The answer is surprisingly yes!
Some research and fishing observations suggest largemouth bass can respond differently to lure colors under certain conditions, including red. This only held true in shallower water as RED is also the first color to disappear as you travel deeper into the water column.
The next time you are fishing in 10 feet or less (before red starts to disappear in the water column), consider using a red lure or a bait with red flake.
